Main scientific achievements:

The role of kinetin and calcium in regulation of electrogenic activity of plant cells is revealed. Cellular and molecular mechanisms of plant resistance to Al and a number of heavy metals are studied, the role of some plant species from local flora in bioindication and remediation of environmental contamination is determined. Survey of biodiversity of endemic, rare and endangered species of national and Caucasus flora, analysis of disputable species, assessment of their status according to modern category and criteria of IUCN important for plant conservation are carried out. Investigations were carried out in the frame of international grants:
NATO Linkage collaborative research grants, CRG.LG 971653 (1999-2001), LST.CLG 980190 (2004-2005); STCU research grant № 3625 (2006-2008), № 3803 (2006-2009), № 4797 (2009-2011); CEPF (2006-2009, 2007); IUCN (2007-2009); CRDF - BGP -2 (2008-2009).
