Main scientific achievements: |
1. It was concluded that delayed florescence of chlorophyll of Photosystem II occurs due to recombination reaction in acidic medium between P680QАˉ and Yz• and in alkaline medium between P680QАˉ and Si+1 2. Mechanism of photoinhibition of photosystem II has been determined: i) It was established that the donor side of Photosystem II is damaged under strong light on the stage of initial formation, but the site located on acceptor side is damaged after completion of formation process; ii) It is observed that the recombination reaction between QA- and YZ [(P680 QA-)-(YZ°)] in acidic medium is more stable to photoinhibition, while the recombination reaction between QA- and CaMn4-cluster [(P680QA-)-(Si+1°)] in alkaline medium is more sensitive. |
