	Main area of activity of the structural unit:	Creation and development of thematic and applying maps. The main direction in the sector activity is development of atlas mapping. For research of environments are carried out mapping-mathematics methods. Regularity are carried out classification and systematics of toponomies for Azerbaijan.
	Main scientific achievements of the structural unit:	Were created and developed social economical, physical, climatical, agroclimatical, landscapes and other maps representative natural resources and conditions. From 1949 were developed and published atlases, scientific and practice models for natural complexes. Toponimical researches were published in the 5 monographs and were basis for toponimical fund. Were determineted and collected on the maps by scale 1:25000 passive and active fund of Azerbaijan toponims.
