As a
part of a proposed hypothesis, the catalytic activity of Faujasite type zeolites in
carbonium-ionic reactions have been related to the substitution of Na cations with the
polyvalent cations. The relation between catalytic activity and the degree of cation
substitution has also been clarified. The effects of synthesis conditions of the zeolite
supported catalysts (alumna-silicate with a high level of alumna, magnesia-silicate and
alumna-magnesia-silicate) on the activity, acidic sites, micro-porous structure, and other
parameters of the materials have been studied by use of physico-chemical principles. The
scientific fundamentals of synthesis of zeolite supported catalysis with suitable matrices
for the cracking processes have been worked out.
It has been shown, for the first time, that the nature of the matrix has a strong effect
on the composition of cracking products. Aromatic hydrocarbons is produced less on the
zeolite supported catalysis with magnesia-silicate matrix in comparison with the zeolite
supported catalysis with alumna-silicate matrix. This fact can be explained by the
differences of acidic sites.
It has been shown, for the first time, that the degree of amorphousness of the zeolites in
the zeolite supported catalysts not only depends on the treatment temperature, but also on
the nature of the matrix. Catalysts with high catalytic activity have been prepared for
the dehydration, isomerization, oxidative dehydrogenation, etherification, and
hydrocracking processes by the modification of natural zeolites and zeolite containing
catalysts. |
