Main scientific achievements made over the last five years: | More than 50 scientific books and about 400 scientific articles were published. The most important among them are follows: Shikhabaddin an Nasavi. Biography of Jalal ad-Din Mankburny. Translations from Arabic, preface, notes and comments are made by academician Z.M.Bunyadov. Abdi bey Shirazi. Tekmillet-ul-akhbar. Translations, summary and comments are made by A.Rakhimov. G.Bakhshaliyeva. Abul-faraj al-Isfahani "Books of Songs" and classic Azerbaijanian literature; Medieval Orient. Miscellanea of articles devoted to academician Z.M.Bunyadov; Sh.Tagiyeva, A.Rahimli, S.Bayramzade "South Azerbaijan". Copy book of Tiflis villayet in 1728. Preface and translation are made by candidate of historical sciences Sh.Mustafayev. V.Mustafayev "National self-consciousness of south Azerbaijanians". Besides this the institute was one of the organizers of some international scientific conferences during last 5 years. |

Brief information on the organization’s history: | Institute of Oriental Studies of ANAS was founded in 1958 by the bylaw of Soviet of Ministers of the Republic on the basis of acting departments and groups of other institutes of Academy of Sciences. During the years of its activity the collaborators of the institute studied the history of Middle East Countries, social-cultural development of the peoples of this region and their cultural-historical relations with Azerbaijan during centuries. More than 400 scientific books and several thousands scientific articles of the institute collaborators were published till present time. |
