Main area of activity of the structural unit:

Life and works of famous Arabic writers and poets; Azerbaijan-Arabic literary relations; importance of Azerbaijan scientists in the formation of Arabic  linguistics; compiling of the Arabic-Turkish dictionaries and their publications; literary and philological translations.
Main scientific achievements of the structural unit:

Since the division was established in 1976 he was issued 24 monographs, 6 collected articles entitled as "She problems of Arabic philology", 4 translated works (the novel, stories), more than 200 scientific articles. Some of monographs: "The  coryphans of Arabic literature" by A.Imangulieva; "Kitab al-Agani" and Azerbaijan classic literature bu G.Bakhshaliyeva; "Neoclassic poetry in Irag" by V.Jafarov.
