It is carried out the ecological estimation of a condition of regional supply of Azerbaijan by selenium (the natural antioxidant).
It is shown, that antioxidising action of selenium can not be reduced only to functioning of the antioxidising selenium - containing ferment glutationperroxidaza, bat can be realised also by to other independence ways:

a) through inhibition of oxidising ferment lipoxigenase.

b) as a "trap" of free radicals.
The important role of a satiation by selenium of haemoglobin for normal functioning of erythrocytes is marked.
