Main area of activity of the structural unit:

Monitoring of space and time variations of hydro-, gas-, radio-chemical fields with the purpose of analysis of 1) mode of fluctuations; 2) impact of hot-spots of strong earthquakes ( kі13; Mі5) on geo-chemical status of the objects monitored and identification of informative forecasting geo-chemical criteria; 3) studies of mechanisms of formation of anomalies over the period of time preceding earthquakes. 

Main scientific achievements of the structural unit:

Establishing of regularities in formation of anomalies manifesting in geo-chemical fields. Identification of the informative geo-chemical criteria signaling formation of strong and catastrophic earthquakes  ( kі13; Mі5) with the hot-spots located in Anatolian-Iranian-Caucasus tectonic node, Caspian Sea basin and Pamir-Gindukush zone (only for deeply rooted earthquakes).
