Main scientific achievements of the structural unit: |
Migration properties of natural radionuclides such as K-40, U-238, Th-232, and Ra-226 were studied in the chain “soil-plant (camel's-thorn, bean caper, turneforsion, and rush). It was revealed that migration properties of radionuclides depend on both their types and species of plants, as well as on different properties of different plants to accumulate radionuclides. Photosynthesis process in plants exposed to chronic influence of radiation was studied on the base of comparative analysis of green pigments and carotenoids. It was revealed that the influence of low dose radiation to photosynthesis in different plants carries an individual character and there is not any regularity in synthesis of photosynthetic pigments. It was established that stimulative impact of low dose radiation in dependence with the period of plant growing reveals itself in different ways. |
