Main area of activity of the structural unit:

Determination of radioecological state, making of radioecological maps, studying of changing in living organisms formed by the condition created in environment by such factors in the Republic and also on Absheron Peninsular.
Main scientific achievements of the structural unit:

For the first time distribution dynamics of 8 heavy metals has been studying in soils of Absheron peninsula in the course of several years (beginning1991). It was established that concentration of heavy metals had decreased till 1998-1999, but beginning from this period it had increased. Such distribution dynamics of heavy metals completely coincides with regularities of economic development in Baku-Absheron industrial zone of Azerbaijan Republic.
