Azerbaijan Republic, Nakhchivan AR, Ordubad

As a result of long –term investigations totally 74 species of harmful lepidopteron was registered from which 16 species were new to Azerbaijan fauna. It was revealed that 59 lepidopteron species damage to pip fruits plants and 15 species to stone fruits tree. 79 species of parasites of 10 harmful lepidopteron species were registered. 29 species of parasites were new to Azerbaijan fauna. Hosts of 56 parasite species were recorded in Azerbaijan. From them 12 were new to Caucasus fauna and 14 species new to former USSR fauna. Bioecological and parasitic features of 19 parasite species was studied. Methods of laboratory breeding of the 3 species of parasites (N.armilata, B.hebetor, P.gallicola) of peach twig borer, apple ermine moth on mealworm moth were elaborated. Intraareal introduction ways for ageniaspis against apple ermine moth and 2 predators (syntomis and calosoma) against gypsy moth was elaborated and recommendations were submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture. The role of entomophags and entomopathogenic microorqganisms in the management of cotton bollworm population in the Mile-Mughan region of Azerbaijan was studied. The integrated control measures were used against cotton bollworm. 37 species of xylophags damaging to forest plants and 35 species entomophags controlling their number in nature was registered in Azerbaijan. Bioecological and practical importance of 7 species of xylophags and 4 species of parasites were studied.
